Artist: David Rice
Dimensions of Piece: 72" H x 32" W x 12" D
Mediums/ Materials Used: Electrical boxes, garage door springs, projector, a computer panel, and nuts and bolts.
Inspiration: My inspiration for this piece came from Building Value. I often find inspiration there! Robot? I needed a head, and found a projector. I needed hands and found old electrical conduit connectors. I needed arms and found garage door springs. I even found a way to make my robot light up a little bit. It was a blast creating this. The people at Building Value were so kind and helpful I don't think I could have done it without them.

Mediums/Materials Used: Pre 1928 Columbia Player Piano, Metal and Glass
Inspiration: The idea of sitting in a room with a piano playing away, while you drink a cocktail, is a glimpse into a long forgotten era. Saving this piano from a trash heap grave and giving it new life was impossible to say no to. I was able to build a majority of it with pieces of the original piano. I hope it goes to a deserving home.
Artists: Bob Dyehouse and Landen Summay
Dimensions of Piece: 54" H x 18" W x 36" D
Mediums/Materials Used: Metal, Marble, Wood, Glass

Artist: David Rueve
Dimensions of Piece: 29.5" H x 47.5" L x 23.5" D
Mediums/Materials Used: Iron Railing, Scrap metal, Old Wood Work Table Top
Inspiration: Minimalist in form with simple clean lines, here we have mid century teak desk designed to fit anywhere. The desk is lightweight, only 40 pds without the drawers. The desk is also reversible, meaning the drawers can be installed from either side, so the orientation of the drawers can be on the left or the right. The desk frame was created primarily from an old fence rail. The desk top and drawer faces were made from an old work table top, the drawers were made from old drawers which were disassembled and rebuilt too the correct size. The door pulls were made from a steel dowel. The only thing that did not come from BV is the teak veneer. I wanted to create a piece that was made from very distressed materials but showed well, in essence, highlighting the one of the core values of Building Value: giving people (and things) a second chance.
Artist: Debbie Phillips
Mediums/Materials Used: Glass, Title, China, Grout, Paint
Inspiration: A Mosaic Cincinnati sky scene built in a shelf. Highlighted with Music Hall, Cincinnati Skyline, River, Reds, FCC, Bengals, Cyclones, Big Mac Bridge, Roebling Bridge, Duke Energy Building, Ferris Wheel, The Banks and more.
Artist: Andrew Setters
Mediums/Materials Used: This started with a discarded mannequin, junk steel pipe was used to extend the base. Wood and recycled canvas drop cloth were used for the wings. A piece of red sheet steel I found on the side of the road was formed into the heart, with recycled nuts and washers
Inspiration: As soon as I found the mannequin, I imagined it with angel's wings. I like the idea of the anonymous form, which could easily be seen as sexualized instead representing the transcendent nature of everyone. "Nobody Girl" is a song that I had running through my mind as i was thinking about this piece. I imagine she has suffered some loss and hurt, guards her heart, but still reaches skyward.
Artist: Joe Kletz
Dimensions of Piece: 6.25" H x 36" W x 16" D
Mediums/ Materials Used: 2 x4's, bathroom fixture, chains, ceiling plate
Inspiration: It's a light fixture made from 99% reclaimed materials from Building Value. Inspiration derived from my creative/design background coupled with my background as an electrician. Merging the two and utilizing my hobby of building pieces from reclaimed wood, I decided to challenge myself. I am willing to install it to the buyer.

Dimensions of Piece: 32" H x 48" Circle
Mediums/Materials Used: Bottom of doors, round glass table top (4) chairs.

Artist: Ryan Slattery
Dimensions of Piece: 71" H x 38" W x 38" D
Mediums/ Materials Used: Singer Sewing Machine, Iron Chandelier, recycled stainless steel laser drops, recycled steel circular base
Inspiration: The singer sewing machine had a beautiful design I wanted to bring to life in a new form. I wasn't positive what form that would be until I looked up, and saw an old chandelier, intricate in its design and malleable in its use. At that moment, the 2 things came together in my mind to form an eclectic bird. The type of bird, wasn't as important as capturing the essence of the long neck of beautiful birds such as ostrich's and emus. I took great care in ensuring the Singer piece flowed along with the body and the legs offered a base design that captured the eye, yet didn't take the viewer away from the main focal point.

Mediums/Materials Used: Two solid oak panel doors, Fabric and foam, plywood, metal fasteners, paint
Inspiration: Having a home built in the 1950's, I greatly appreciate solid wooden doors and sturdy construction. After finding two doors similar size, I decided that I could construct a chair using the two doors. I painted it with a gray chalk paint and applied wax sealant to the entire outside to give the chair a smooth silky feel.
Artist: Troy M. Malmstrom, Digital Processes LLC
Dimensions of Piece: 55" L x 18" W x 17" H
Mediums/ Materials Used: Steel I-Beam, Wood Beam
Inspiration: The built world is constructed with cold, harsh materials such as concrete and steel which are then clad in warmer, soft materials such as wood and upholstery to accommodate its occupants. The Beam Bench employs a similar technique by using the steel I-beam as structure but then is clad in warmer wood where the user interacts with the bench. The reclaimed wood is shaped and fit within the shape of the I-beam to dictate seating locations while leaving the structure clearly exposed elsewhere. The result is an industrial bench which is still warm to the touch and inviting.

Mediums/Materials Used: Particle Board, Tar Paper, Latex Paint
Inspiration: In 1994, Denso Wave Corporation launched the Quick Read Code to track parts throughout the automotive manufacturing process. The functionality of the 2D barcode depends on its ability to be distinguished from ambient visual information by an optical scanner. The inventors of the code found a ratio of black and white spaces of 1:1:3:1:1 to be the least common pattern in the thousands of images scanned. This pattern appears as concentric black and white squares, used to located the code and determine its position prior to reading. the simple homing device is an icon to be revered.

Artist: Jamie Van Landuyt
Dimensions of Piece: 36" H x 30" W
Mediums/Materials Used: Oil, Oil Pastel, Ink, Graphite
Inspiration: This piece is one in a series I call the "Thoroughly Modern Lily" series. It started as an experiment (as it all does) using ink as a base layer. I let the ink create its own patterns and textures and movement. It had a quality to it that reminded me of water lilies, very abstract ones. The bold color, (oil) I added made the work came alive.
Artist: Robert McFate
Dimensions of Piece (L x W x D): 25" H x 17" W x 1.5" D
Mediums/ Materials Used: Wood, Metal, Acrylic Paint, Resin Clear
