Inspiration: Minimalist in form with simple clean lines, here we have mid century teak desk designed to fit anywhere. The desk is lightweight, only 40 pds without the drawers. The desk is also reversible, meaning the drawers can be installed from either side, so the orientation of the drawers can be on the left or the right.
The desk frame was created primarily from an old fence rail. The desk top and drawer faces were made from an old work table top, the drawers were made from old drawers which were disassembled and rebuilt too the correct size. The door pulls were made from a steel dowel. The only thing that did not come from BV is the teak veneer. I wanted to create a piece that was made from very distressed materials but showed well, in essence, highlighting the one of the core values of Building Value: giving people (and things) a second chance.
