Once upon a time, Debbi and Paul Brainerd had a big, bold vision. The vision was to preserve and transform 255 acres of forest slated for residential development into an environmental center for children without access to outdoor learning. In 2002, after much hard work and immense generosity from early supporters, IslandWood opened its doors to students and educators. In the twenty years since, IslandWood has exponentially grown from a pilot program located on Bainbridge Island to a nationally recognized organization leading innovative work in multiple locations throughout the Puget Sound region. If this was the first 20 years, imagine where the next 20 will take us!
As always, we are planning a thoughtfully curated auction with a variety of travel, dining, art, and sports experiences at a range of price points. The auction will open for browsing and bidding on May 3. In the meantime, get all the logistics about the auction here so you're ready to hit the ground bidding!
