ABOUT THE AWARD
The Nourishing Roots Award honors an individual or organization that has made a significant impact on IslandWood, going above and beyond to nourish the roots of our foundation. Please join us in celebrating this year's awardee Pete Wiedemann, and the incredible impact he's had on IslandWood.

ABOUT THE HONOREE
Pete Wiedemann has been a volunteer at IslandWood for the past 18 years and has shared over 5,000 hours of work! A talented woodworker, Pete has made most of the signs and many of the wooden structures on our Bainbridge Island campus. One of Pete's most significant projects is the vertical "welcome" sign at the main entrance of the Garden Classroom. The "welcome" in 15 different languages is representative of the diversity of students that have participated in IslandWood's Student Overnight Program over the years.

We are beyond grateful for Pete's generous commitment of time, talent, and creativity. His dedication to IslandWood is simply unparalleled.
