What makes this print any more special than another? It was done by an artist who used his mouth to paint it!
Holding the paintbrush in his mouth, artist Jared Dunten carefully added each brushstroke to create this work of art.
Read on to learn more about Jared's story:
About the Artist: Jared Dunten
In 2000, Dunten was paralyzed in a diving accident in the Rio Grande after a camping trip in the Chisos Mountains. Unable to move from the neck down Dunten began using his mouth to paint in 2002.
In 2005 he was awarded a student scholarship by the MFPA (Mouth and Foot Painters Association) based in Lichtenstein.
Dunten has studied with painter Philip Wade and world renowned master painter Edward Povey. While studies are on-going with Povey, Dunten's style, subject and technique continue to evolve.
His works have been on exhibition at the Bass Concert Hall, The One Allen Center and featured in online and print publications nationally. Patrons across the US collect his work. His most recent public pieces can be seen on display at TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas and at The College of Education on the TCU University campus in Ft. Worth.
With a relentless spirit Dunten continues to, "paint himself out of the wheelchair" advocating research for paralysis from spinal cord injury and knows he will walk again. Making prints available to everyone, Dunten wants his story to be told and the belief in a cure to spread.
Now, Dunten lives and works at his studio just outside of Austin, Texas with his wife, 2 sons and a small group committed to seeing his mission through.

Homemade Vintage Necklace
$135Take home this one-of-a-kind necklace handmade by Leta Altom of Blue Chelsea Treasures. Each piece of jewelry made by Leta is as unique as the materials she uses.
Made from materials salvaged from rusted metal roofing tin, a stamped metal claw foot chair sabot (toe cap), a slice of cow horn, a fragment of an earring, and a polished rhinestone shoe clip, this vintage jewelry features a string of tiny rhinestones encircling the roofing tin. All rusted materials have been sealed in acrylic to maintain their integrity and color.
Measuring approximately 15 inches from the back of the neck to the bottom of the pendant which hangs from a rusted, chain-link chain, this necklace comes with an open hook, allowing you to adjust it to various lengths to accommodate your outfit.
There is a story waiting to be told behind this piece - what story will you tell??
