We received a call in March 2021 of a dog wandering near the highway who looked like he desperately needed our help. After getting him to our trauma center, it was apparent he had a severe prolapsed rectum. He was taken immediately to a specialty hospital to receive a surgery which proved to be long and difficult. He made it through surgery, but sadly did not make it through the night. He went into respiratory arrest. They tried CPR but were unable to get his heart going again. There had been a lot of damage done inside his colon and he just couldn't handle it all. He had the very best surgeons and best care we could have ever given him. We were broken hearted but are comforted knowing he was pain free from the second he was carried in. He had suffered on the street for days. He wasn't all alone, in pain, and scared, and that is a wonderful gift to have given him. He loved to be held and kissed. Clide deserved the chance to live a beautiful life. We hope he knew how much we loved and adored him in the short time we got with him.
