A Wishful Evening is an inspiring night dedicated to celebrating the mission of Make-A-Wish and the transformative power of a wish. This inaugural event brings together community leaders, philanthropists, and supporters to help grant life-changing wishes for children in Southern Delaware facing critical illnesses.
Co-chaired by Mark Hutton and Laura Sugrue, A Wishful Evening offers an unforgettable experience filled with gourmet hors d'oeuvres, a captivating silent auction, and heartfelt stories from local wish families. Guests will have the opportunity to connect with others who share a passion for making dreams come true while raising essential funds to bring hope and joy to children in need.
Join us as we close out the summer season with an evening of inspiration and impact-because together, we can make more wishes come true.
Event Timeline
6:00-7:00 PM - Event check-in; enjoy a variety of gourmet passed hors d'oeuvres and food stations, bid on silent auction items, mingle with local wish families, and listen to live music by Delaware-based singer-songwriter Julie Derrick.
7:15-7:30 PM - Gather by the sand for a heartfelt program, including reflections from Teagan, whose wish to have a Disney-themed backyard continues to inspire. We will also celebrate an upcoming wish for a child in Sussex County.
7:30-9:00 PM - Continue enjoying the evening with more food, music, mingling, and final silent auction bidding.
8:30 PM - Silent auction closes
9:00 PM - Evening concludes
Dress Code
Beach chic attire is encouraged. Flip flops welcome!
