Why no Pledge by the Yard? Pledge by the Yard garnered less than 4% of the total money pledged/raised last year; and, due to issues beyond our control which necessitated a change in websites, this feature cannot be accommodated at this time. BUT our goal remains the same: to secure monetary pledges to help fund Looking Forward programs at Smilow Cancer Hospital.

Dear Loyal Supporters of Looking Forward,

Due to our great success last year raising over $58,000.00, we are once again hosting a Looking Forward Virtual Golf Event and cocktail party on Wednesday June 4, 2025, at Back 9 Social in Wallingford from 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm. We are looking for 50 Designated Drivers who are willing to get pledges for money that will be used to fund the Looking Forward Program at Smilow Cancer Center. No golf experience is required! (but it couldn't hurt). All you have to do is hit the golf ball onto the virtual golf course! By simply giving our website to your donors we make it easy for you to help make a difference in the life of a cancer patient. We are encouraging cancer survivors, as well as those who want to participate in memory of a loved one, to join us for this fun filled night.

The funds raised will support new programs as well as ongoing programs for male and female patients which include:

Multiple amenities carts which distribute items for patients undergoing treatment
HOPE bracelet program
Zoom Yoga classes
Post-surgical mastectomy bras
Massage chairs for the Smilow Breast Centers including refreshment cart and relaxation rooms
Beyond Beauty Program
Additional grants awarded throughout the year to Smilow departments that support patients

The Looking Forward program raises funds to support oncology patients at Yale New Haven Hospital and their families throughout all aspects of their cancer journey, from diagnosis to survivorship.
Looking Forward was created by a former patient, as part of the YNHH Auxiliary and is directed by a volunteer-led council.
