This gala is not just an exquisite gathering; it serves as a significant source of support for
CureDuchenne, empowering the organization to invest in cutting-edge research
aimed at discovering a cure for individuals facing Duchenne
muscular dystrophy.

Thanks to the immense generosity of the Miami community, Champions in
Miami has already channeled more than $2 million into research and support for
families living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy since 2021. But we believe this is just the beginning of our journey.

CureDuchenne is committed to improving the lives of everyone affected by Duchenne through accelerating research to find the cure, improving care and empowering the Duchenne community.

Join us in driving transformative research and support programs
that offer hope and improve care for thousands who need it

Meet The Finazzo Family

In 2020, while the world was turning upside down, our family received the life-changing news that both of our sons, Chase and Dylan, were in the earliest stages of a rare and fatal disease called Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Duchenne is an aggressive, muscle-withering disease that begins with larger muscles in the
legs, and later attacking the smaller muscles in the heart and lungs. Most boys diagnosed with Duchenne lose the ability to walk by 12, and many lose their life in their early 20s. As a parent, it was the most devastating news imaginable; but we knew that we must start advocating for them to give them the best care and to help find a cure.

After searching for answers, we discovered CureDuchenne, a nonprofit founded by a family whose story was similar to our own. CureDuchenne has driven forward the most promising research and treatments - in fact, in the last 20 years, life expectancy for those living with Duchenne has increased by nearly a decade.

But that's not enough for Chase, Dylan, and the nearly

15,000 boys and young men living with this disease in the US alone.

I invite you to join us March 9, 2024 for Champions in Miami. While this will be an unforgettable night, it is so much bigger than one evening. The cure is within our reach, but we need your help. We invite you to be a part of this journey.

 Together, we WILL cure Duchenne.

-Chris Finazzo, 2024 Event Chair
