  • One 1.5L bottle of 2014 Harlan "The Maiden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

Founded in 1984, Harlan Estate is a winegrowing estate in the western hills of Oakville, California - in the heart of the Napa Valley. Consisting of 240 acres (97 ha) of natural splendor set above the fabled Oakville benchlands, the property rises in elevation from 225 to 1,225 feet (68 to 374 m) above sea level.

"Winemakers believe that the land speaks to them of possibilities. A winemaker's goal is to express those possibilities, to capture the best of what the land has to offer." - Bob Levy (Founding Winemaker)

The Maiden represents the second selection from the estate. It is a highly detailed and sumptuous wine, remarkably faithful to the vineyard's pedigree. Accordingly, the resemblance to her "big sister" is unmistakable.

94 points, Robert Parker writes for Wine Advocate: "The Maiden, which essentially comes from lots culled from the Harlan Estate, is largely, like its bigger siblings, nearly all Cabernet Sauvignon with just a touch of Petit Verdot and Merlot. The 2014 The Maiden exhibits the vintage's terrific fruit-forwardness, silky tannins, and plump, succulent personality. It is a wine of considerable intensity, lushness and appeal. The easygoing nature of this vintage belies some serious concentration behind the charm and appeal, but that is why most people love the wine." (10/2016)

Collection of California Sales Tax: Unless a valid resale permit is presented to seller prior to the sale, purchaser will be required to pay all state and local retail sales taxes applicable on the date of sale - amounting to 8.25%. Resale permits will be accepted only for businesses that are reasonably expected to buy and sell alcohol. Sales tax will be collected on the purchase price of each tangible item included in an auction lot.
