UpValley Family Centers works with over 40 partner agencies to make sure that vital resources are made available to people right here in our rural community, so they don't have to travel to the larger cities that lie at least 45 minutes away. Every year, UVFC connects more than 4,000 people with essential resources and services that can help them survive, and thrive. We help people sign up for health insurance, connect them to mental health resources, assist with enrollment for unemployment and other benefit programs, and so much more.
Your donation of $100 ensures that local families and individuals will be able to count on UpValley Family Centers as a one-stop shop - a safe, welcoming space where they can access the essential supports and information they need to build lasting stability and wellbeing.
Activities that reduce isolation and foster social relationships are essential to help older adults maintain their health and wellbeing.
More than a quarter of the Calistoga population is 65 and over, and as many as three quarters of them live by themselves. What's more: over 60% of the residents in Calistoga's three senior mobile home parks live on a low or very low income.
UpValley Family Centers provides Calistoga seniors with case management support, emergency financial assistance, access to nutritious groceries or meals, engaging activities, and regular opportunities for social connection.

In Napa County, 6-year-olds from Spanish-speaking families are less likely than their English-fluent peers to pass a Kindergarten Readiness Assessment.
Adults who read, talk, and sing regularly with their young child increase his or her readiness for school. Every year, over 250 children and their caregivers participate in UVFCs bilingual early learning programs, including weekly playgroups that provide a variety of developmentally engaging activities and encourage reading at home.
Your $750 donation will help participating parents feel more empowered to engage in fun skill-building activities with their children, and ensure that kids enter Kindergarten better prepared for success.
Latino/Latina students are the most economically disadvantaged ethnic student group in California, and are more likely to live in a household facing financial hardship due to the pandemic. They're also less likely to enter and graduate from college.
UVFC's weekly, school-based CLARO and CLARA mentorship groups provide teens with activities that increase their wellbeing, foster stronger school engagement, and remove barriers to higher education. Data for the past four school years shows that a higher percentage of graduating seniors who participated in CLARO/CLARA met UC and CSU requirements compared to their peers not enrolled in CLARO/CLARA .
Your $1,000 donation will help 40 middle- and high school students realize that higher education is within their reach by taking them on an engaging fieldtrip to a local college - where they'll learn the ins and outs of the application process and have a chance to talk with students who come from our community.
The Migration Policy Institute found that Napa County immigrants are less likely to be naturalized than immigrants statewide. Yet citizenship is linked to higher family income, higher English proficiency, and more engagement in the community.
As a member of the Napa County Citizenship Legal Services Collaborative, UVFC offers immigration consultations and application assistance to help people on their path to citizenship. Together with the Collaborative, we have helped more than 1,900 people gain citizenship since 2014.
Your $2,500 donation will help ten individuals access the benefits and stability that comes with US Citizenship by providing application assistance and ongoing support as they further secure immigration benefits or prepare for their naturalization interview.
An annual tax refund can offer a critical financial boost for low-income families who depend on seasonal employment - providing a means to fill a budget gap, pay for major expenses like home repair, or allow them to build an emergency savings fund.
Last year, UVFC provided free tax preparation assistance over 600 households, and helped bring back $940,108 in refunds - an average of over $1,536 per family. We also provided financial coaching, helping families stretch their household budgets further, reduce debt, build savings, and increase their credit.
Your $5,000 donation will provide 30 low-income families with access to free tax preparation assistance and other support, allowing them to build a greater sense of financial security.

From Former Board Member Karen Cakebread, the ZIATA Mia Madre boasts a vibrant bouquet of ripe plum and blueberry, dried lavender, dark chocolate, toasted cardamom and other exotic spices. With a seductive entry and rich mid-palate weight, layers of unctuous black fruits are enveloped by sweet yet structured tannins. The ZIATA Meteor Vineyard opens with dark fruit notes on the nose, evolving into clean aromas of bright red fruit. The palate strikes an intriguing balance between graceful and brawny; pure berry flavors of blackberry and red currant are framed by a thread of baking spice, cocoa and wild brambly fruit.

The Estate History...According to local lore, the estate house and barn were built circa 1890 by a prominent businessman for his mistress. The property was subsequently the home of a Russian princess, a prune and walnut orchard, a camellia nursery and a Christmas tree farm. In many ways, this history shapes the overall identity of Boeschen Vineyards; their approach is Old-World, with the wines reflecting a classic structure and tradition.
The Garden...The Boeschen Vineyards gardens present a magical opportunity to step back in time. Master Gardener Susan has redesigned the grounds to create the feel of a garden that might have been planted at the time the house was built, in the late 1800's, and has saved the old plantings and trees whenever possible. The gardens have something of fragrance in bloom at all times, and the structures of that original era have been incorporated throughout the estate.
The Car Collection...Dann has long been a German sports car fan, and now, after a decade of vintage racing, his collection is on display in the car barn. Included are a 1955 Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, known by the French as a Papillon for its "Butterfly" doors; a 1956 Porsche Speedster, returned to street trim after its racing career; and a 1959 Porsche sunroof coupe, restored from bare metal to factory new condition. Displayed with a 1966 Porsche 906 are original photos from its 50-year racing history.

Blue Oak Vineyard private wine tasting experience for six: Blue Oak Vineyard was planted in the mid-1990s in a unique part of the Napa Valley-in the southeast corner known as Coombsville. This area has been recently named the newest appellation, but for many years it was the best-kept secret of Napa.
On the very top of this Coombsville knoll is where the Blue Oak Vineyard resides, with volcanic ash and mountainous hillsides creating the grapes special character. And with a microclimate that is well suited to Cabernet, Blue Oak is a rare grower of Merlot in the region. Like the great wines of Bordeaux, Merlot provides the varietal that creates extraordinary, long-lasting wines of supple beauty. Hence, Blue Oak Merlot stands out as a special wine in a special area.
Acquired in 1999 by Kelly Gorman and Steve Carnevale, the Blue Oak Estate has been cared for with the intention of producing the finest wine possible for this region. With only three acres of vines, Blue Oak has very limited production.

Enjoy a unique experience at Vaso Cellars (Dana Estates Winery), tasting the progression of the Vaso Cellars cabernet sauvignon. Sit down with the winemaker as you taste and explore the progression of the wine. The experience will start with up to three different barrel tastings and two bottle tastings. The tasting will represent a different vintage, starting with the newest and progressing to the oldest before bottling. Then, move to tasting the current release and one library wine. This will provide a unique exploration into the thought process of the winemaker into how blends are formed to create the wonderful final wine, then taste how it ages. At the end of the tasting, each person will leave with a 750ml bottle of the current vintage Vaso Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon.

2019 Melka CJ Cabernet: Their 23rd vintage of this wine and it is still a joy to produce. There is a reason their CJ has such a strong following and this wine does not disappoint. The nose is intense and powerful with black currant, raspberry and fresh strawberries along with hints of crushed rocks. The entry is juicy and layered complemented by cassis, red plum, with a leathery yet vibrant structure. This wine has lots of fruit with plush, integrated tannins that make this easy and approachable even at a young stage in its life. Recommended to decant to show off even more of its expressivity.

GIII: Sourced from the Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard in Rutherford, this wine is produced from 100% Clone 337 Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes originated from a specific section of the vineyard that was formerly part of the Napa River riverbed. This section benefits from an abundance of minerals and rocks left behind that makes it distinct from the surrounding terroir. Medium- to full-bodied and approachable in its youth, this wine features notes of sweet tobacco, spearmint, and ripe red fruit with opulent and soft, rounded tannins.
MB: The Monastery Block is located on the western side of the To Kalon Vineyard, nestled against the foothills of the Mayacamas adjacent to the Carmelite monastery from which it takes its name. The wine is produced from 100% Clone 169 Cabernet Sauvignon planted on well-drained gravelly soils, showing a classic Oakville expression that balances rich black fruit with minerality and a floral component. Elegant and classically styled, this wine is generous, layered, and fresh.
WH: Wappo Hill Vineyard, in the Stags Leap District, was first planted in 1969. Produced from 100% Clone 685 Cabernet Sauvignon, this bottling is sourced from hillside vines planted on well-drained, gravelly, and clay-loam soils. The vines thrive with ample afternoon sun bookended by cool mornings and evenings and produce intensely flavored fruit with exceptionally balanced acidity. The wine features notes of blackberry, red cherry, and briary aromas that combine with pleasing threads of baking spice, floral petal, and dusty earth tones. This stunning wine shows the tremendous power of a classic Napa Valley Cabernet with a polished, long-lasting finish.

Francis Ford Coppola wanted to create a place for families to come and enjoy all the best things in life together. For years, he had seen children playing around the fountain at Inglenook, pleading with their parents to allow them to jump in. Francis always sympathized with the children, so he thought the kids will want to go swimming, so let's have swimming pools.
Situated in the center of the park area at the winery, two swimming pools totaling 3,600 square feet are surrounded by chaise lounge chairs, which have become a welcome addition for children and adults on warm Alexander Valley days.

Parallel Napa Valley Apres Wine Tasting: Parallel Napa Valley, often referred to affectionately as "the ski wine," was founded in 1999 by four couples from Park City, Utah. The friends, all avid skiers with a life-long appreciation of wine, wanted to create a wine that reflected these passions. Working from the very beginning with rockstar winemaker Philippe Melka, they have been able to achieve just that. Their love of the sport and parallel lives and friendships, that have coalesced over the past 40+ years, are reflected in the intersecting ski tracks of the Parallel label.

Seavy Vineyard: Enjoy a private tour of their historic winery and cave and a private vertical tasting of five of their estate-produced wines. You will get a rare glimpse into a small, family-operated vineyard and winery that has never bought a grape and produces wine entirely on-site. A perfect afternoon for both beginners and experienced collectors and oenophiles.
In the 1870s - when Conn Valley Road was little more than a wagon trail - the land which they now farm was planted with grapes to make a "Claret of high repute." This wine was judged by the St. Helena Star to be "as fine as one might find anywhere." Commonly known as the Franco-Swiss Farming Company, this was the pioneering vineyard and winemaking operation of Conn Valley. After roughly thirty years of producing great wines, the company dissolved due to the impact of a phylloxera infestation and Prohibition. For more than a half century, cattle roamed the land and grain was farmed but no more grapes were cultivated until Bill and Mary Seavey acquired the land in 1979.
Bill and Mary set out to revive the original vineyard, planting the south-facing hillsides of Conn Valley near Lake Hennessey. By 1990, they had remodeled an 1881 stone dairy barn into a small winery and began producing small quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Small blocks of Merlot and Petit Verdot were also added along with a second winery building which includes an underground wine cave.

Expressive and lively on the nose, the 2019 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a black cherry and huckleberry aroma laced with dry floral notes. Integrated oak adds a light note of sweet nutmeg to this wine. Ruby in color, it has a fruit-forward entry with silky tannins that builds across the mid-palate and through a long and balanced finish. Structured while still approachable, this wine remains true to the signature Silver Oak winemaking style and will continue to improve through 2047 given proper cellaring conditions.

Winemaker Celia Welch writes of the 2014 Scarecrow: The consistency of this vintage during the growing season has, not surprisingly, manifested itself in the overall impression of the finished wine. Lovely cassis, black plum, violets, dried blackberries on the vine, baking spices, chestnut, and just a hint of fresh earth interconnect in the very forward aromas of this unmistakably Rutherford Cabernet. On the palate, the entry is balanced and elegant, polished but with a clear density, a flavor core that adds gravitas and suggests ageability. The finish is of wild plums, black cherry jam, and a hint ofwarm vanilla.

Bryant Family Vineyard 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is grown on their 13-acre estate vineyard on Pritchard Hill. The vineyard climbs from 900 to 1200 feet in elevation as it ascends above the shores of Lake Hennessey. With its various exposures, slopes, aspects, and soils, the complexity of the site yields unusually dynamic wines as a single varietal.
The Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon captures the core of their hillside estate. Bettina Proprietary red wine is a Bordeaux-inspired blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Sourced from David Abreu's vineyards, Madrona, and Las Posadas, the wine is co-fermented, bringing the skins of one varietal in contact with the juice of another.

DB4 celebrates Bryant Estate's founder, Don Bryant, and his love of the "4" blocks, which form the heart of their estate vineyard. Young, fresh, and approachable, DB4 can be described as the precocious younger sibling of the wines they produce.
A combination of Bryant, Madrona, Thorevilos, and Las Posadas fruit, their DB4 immediately dances from the glass with aromatics of fresh red and blue fruits, rhubarb, and menthol. Very lively and electric, the profile exhibits this freshness and is laced with notes of forest, wet river rocks, and a dusting of cocoa. 2022 Spottswoode Sauvignon Blanc: Spottswoode's exceptional, classically styled Sauvignon Blanc has been produced since 1984. Highly acclaimed, it is considered one of the "Super Sauvignons," a term coined by wine writer Karen MacNeil to describe a rare class of wines considered to be among the world's utmost expressions of this noble grape.
Winemaker Notes: Pretty and pure with aromas of citrus, white peach, and juicy pear, this beautiful Sauvignon Blanc is layered and complex. Apple clafoutis and floral aromatics invite you in. Rich and textural, this wine perfectly balances viscosity and acidity. Sea spray and salted lemon with some grapefruit pith carries through its long finish. Delicious and refreshing!
2020 Spottswoode Lyndenhurst Cabernet Sauvignon: Part of Spottswoode's storied history inspired the name Lyndenhurst, a tribute to the fragrant linden trees that still bloom in the gardens today. Lyndenhurst Cabernet Sauvignon is a dynamic and inviting wine made from grapes grown in their Estate Vineyard blended with those from other acclaimed family-owned vineyards.
Winemaker Notes: An energetic Napa Valley Cabernet with a bright and impactful first impression imparting flavors of black and red cherries. Medium-bodied with well-integrated, powdery tannins. Notes of blackberry bramble, raspberry, and red currant mingle with cocoa, dried herbs, and crushed graphite. Great acidity. Well balanced and structured, this wine can be enjoyed upon release, and can also be cellared and enjoyed in the years to come.
2020 Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon: Situated on the western edge of St. Helena in Napa Valley, the Spottswoode Estate terroir is ideal for winegrowing. The alluvial clay loam from the Sulphur Creek fan provides superb drainage while cool maritime breezes passing between Spring Mountain and the Mayacamas range allow the fruit to ripen evenly.
Winemaker Notes: Our longstanding practice of picking our estate fruit when perfectly ripe meant that, serendipitously, our fruit was harvested by September 26. While our yields were down due to drought conditions, the quality and concentration of the fruit at harvest was excellent. Young and present, this is an energetic and bold expression of violets, lavender, and cassis mixed with dark chocolate, cherry, plum, and graphite. A wine happy to be tucked away in the cellar, and it's also expressing itself beautifully now.

The Coach Insignia Cabernet Sauvignon is comprised of the finest selected lots of Bordeaux varietals from our Calistoga Estate. The Estate's well drained soils are remarkably consistent, comprised primarily of cobblestones and loam.

The Venge (ven-ghee) family has farmed vitis vinifera varieties in Napa Valley for nearly half a century. The family's viticultural roots flourished in 1976 with the purchase of a 17-acre vineyard in the Oakville District that was planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This fortunate development cast the family among the winemaking pioneers of Napa Valley.
Their experience spans four decades in winemaking. Both traditional and progressive wine production techniques are embraced, although they remain focused on our core belief: only fruit grown from select vineyards that has been handled gently and naturally produces wine worthy of bottling under the Venge family name.

NoseElegant, spicy, aromatic black fruit gives depth to this opaque, dark ruby wine. Adding to the depth and richness, the oak is well integrated with sweet oak spice components that reflect cloves, toast, cocoa powder, cinnamon, tobacco and aromatic cedar.
PalateVery soft on the entry, this wine opens in the glass to sweet black cherry flavors that linger through a full midpalate experience. Bright and rich, this wine has a round mouth feel. The tannins are well resolved, mature and velvety smooth, leading to a long, lingering finish. Rich, round, sophisticated and seductive.

This case of wine is proudly made by the future winemakers from Napa Valley College's Viticulture Teaching Winery! This is the very first winery located on a community college campus in California bonded and licensed to produce and sell wine.
Every aspect of the winemaking process is completed on the campus in their own winery and cellar. The students experience every aspect of the process, from work in the vineyard to the marketing and sale of the wine. You could say that their wine is touched by more hands than at any other winery.
2015 NVC Estate Cabernet Sauvignon: Alcohol 13.4%. Fruit forward with notes of bright strawberries and licorice, followed by hints of cherry cola and toasted almonds.
2022 NVC Estate Sauvignon Blanc: Alcohol 14.7%. Clean and crisp. Like the Cabernet, all of the wine NVC produces is made from grapes grown on their five-acre vineyard located on the Napa Valley College Campus.

The 2019 Faust Cabernet Sauvignon features classic aromas of black cherries and chocolate with layers of savory black cherry tart and notes of tarragon and subtle oak spice. We also find the signature mineral notes of the Faust estate vineyard with polished, fine-grained tannins accenting the finish. It's a mouthful of complexity, and this is going to be one of those Cabernet Sauvignon's that we'll talk about for years to come.
Following their collaboration with artist Roberto Ruspoli through his stunning murals on the walls of Faust Haus, they decided to further showcase his talents on a Faust label. For the second straight year, Ruspoli has lent his gifted hand to our special magnum release.
Rupsoli drew inspiration from his Faust Haus mural to create the evocative silhouette on the label. As he explains, his style is a contemporary telling of the classical world. And for guidance, he turned to the words of Faust, the tragic play by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: "Fill your heart to overflowing, and when you feel profoundest bliss, then call it what you will."

The Pope Valley Winery was founded in 1897 by Ed Haus as Burgundy Winery & Olive Oil Factory. A century later in 1997, the Eakle family purchased the historic winery and gave it a new life as Pope Valley Winery. In 2009 the next generation of Eakles stepped in to continue building and furthering the family's vision for Pope Valley Winery as a fine winemaking establishment. 2013 Merryvale Cabernet Sauvignon: A quintessential Napa Cabernet, this wine is rich and dark in the glass. Aromas of blackberry and faint dried herb waft up from the rim towards you. Upon tasting, the wine has a broad and pleasant entry, moving to a focused and weighty mid palate with notes of cassis, toast and graphite. A lengthy finish shows well proportioned tannin that will gain even more complexity as time passes. With proper cellaring, this wine will drink beautifully for the next 15 years.
2016 Merryvale Cabernet Sauvignon: The wine opens with abundant dark fruit on the nose such as plum, blackberry and cherries, with a touch of leather and graphite. In the mouth it starts with lively acidity that brings a freshness to the wine, then it evolves on soft tannins and a very velvety texture-already showing great! There is a lot of tension and drinkability with this wine at release so it can be enjoyed immediately.

TASTING NOTESBeautifully clear, dark garnet in color. Hints of rose petal and black cherry on the nose, reminiscent of a Black Forest cake. On the palate, it is like a fine dark chocolate melting on the tongue, or perhaps a ripe strawberry dipped in excellent chocolate. The wine is dense and complex, foretelling a long future of ever increasing dimensions. Nevertheless, the tannins are supple and it is easy and enjoyable to drink now. However, this wine will open and gain in complexity over the next 10-15 years.
PAIRINGSThis wine will pair well with a flourless chocolate cake or a roast duck with berry compote.
