Holiday Fun Run for Food Allergies

Join us for the Holiday Fun Run For Food Allergies scheduled for Sunday, November 19 from 1 PM -3 PM at Natick High School! Natick High School Senior Lea Adelmann proposed this race as a way to raise awareness about food allergies. It will be a day full of friends, running, and fun! Sponsored by AAFA New England, registration to run is $25 and will help fund AAFANE's educational resources for those with food allergies.

Hi, my name is Lea Adelmann and I am a senior at Natick High. For most of my life, I only understood allergies as the "nut free" table at school. However, after becoming very close people who suffer from food allergies, I realized how little I actually knew about the severity of allergies. Watching my friends have to readjust plans or even completely opt out of activities so they could stay away from allergens motivated me to learn more and try to raise awareness within my community. Luckily enough, AAFA New England was more than willing to help! By organizing this Halloween Fun Run for Food Allergies, I hope to continue to raise awareness about how food allergies impact people's lives and what people can do to ensure everyone feels safe and included. Similarly, I wanted to set this race in October so that we can make sure all kids with allergies can still have a fun time and receive good treats this Halloween. The Fun Run is a small step, but I hope it helps make a difference for those with allergies.
