Set in the heart of South Beach just minutes from the ocean, Miami Beach Golf Club is a historic and stylish urban oasis where classic golf meets Art Deco glamour. The course traces its roots to 1923, when it opened as the Bayshore Golf Course - laid out by famed Scottish-born architect Willie Park Jr. as part of pioneering developer Carl Fisher's Alton Beach vision to draw wealthy winter visitors south. In 2002, the City of Miami Beach invested $10 million in a sweeping redesign by Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates, who reshaped every hole - draining and resculpting the lakes, rebuilding the bunkering and contours, and crowning the property with an elegant Art Deco clubhouse and outdoor dining terrace. The result is a beautifully manicured layout where shimmering water, white-sand bunkers, swaying palms, and the Miami Beach skyline frame nearly every shot. Now home to the prestigious South Beach International Amateur - annually one of the highest-ranked amateur events in the world - it remains one of the most distinctive and memorable rounds in South Florida.
Designer: Willie Park Jr. (1923); complete redesign by Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates (2002)
