A true Golden Age treasure tucked quietly into the hills south of Tulsa, Oaks Country Club is one of only two courses in Oklahoma to carry the design imprimatur of legendary architect A.W. Tillinghast, who laid out the original 18 in the 1920s with his signature philosophy that nature must precede the architect. Perry Maxwell - the "father of Oklahoma golf" - later refined several holes and greens in the 1930s, and in 2015 architect Bill Bergin completed a celebrated restoration that brought the original Tillinghast character back to life, earning recognition among Golf Digest's Best New Remodels. The result is a course rich with old-school charm: fairways framed by towering oaks, small sloping greens, and simple, strategic bunkering scaled perfectly to the rolling terrain. Often described as Tulsa's hidden gem, Oaks rewards thoughtful shot-making and quietly outshines far better-known names in the region.

Golf Digest Rankings #14 Best in State Oklahoma (2025-26), up from #15 in the 2023-24 inaugural ranking.
Designer: A.W. Tillinghast (1920s); Perry Maxwell (1936); restoration by Bill Bergin (2015)
