Set on quintessential Fairfield County terrain in the heart of affluent southern Connecticut, The Country Club of Darien delivers a polished, classic private-club experience that has only grown more refined over the past two decades. Originally laid out in 1958 by Alfred H. Tull - a design partner of Devereux Emmet and a construction engineer for A.W. Tillinghast - the course was extensively reimagined beginning in 2007 by acclaimed architect Dr. Michael Hurdzan, whose work here earned the Golf, Inc. "Renovation of the Year" award in 2010. The result is a 6,912-yard championship layout marked by tightly framed tree-lined corridors, expanded green complexes with subtle collection areas, fast bent-grass surfaces, and a reputation for top-shelf year-round conditioning. It is a course that rewards precision and patience in equal measure, and routinely hosts top regional amateur and professional tournaments.

Golf Digest Rankings #17 Best in State Connecticut (2025-26). The course was also featured on Golf Digest's original "200 Toughest Courses" list from 1966-68.
