Tucked into the rolling bluffs of Long Island's pristine North Fork, just ten miles from the Hamptons, Baiting Hollow Club is one of the East End's quietest treasures - a 138-acre Robert Trent Jones Sr. design that opened in 1964 and has, after several decades and several names, been restored to its original glory. Built on the high ground above the Long Island Sound, the par-70 layout takes full advantage of its undulating terrain with elevated tees, dramatic greens, and sweeping water and farmland vistas at almost every turn. The course was thoughtfully re-routed and restored under the guidance of premier design firm Hurdzan-Fry in 2007, and the magnificent 25,000-square-foot shingled clubhouse - with rich wood-paneled locker rooms and fireside grill room - opened the following summer. The atmosphere here is one of true "casual elegance" - relaxed, personable, and entirely without pretension - while the course itself has proven serious enough to host U.S. Open qualifiers (2002, 2013), the Met Open (2001), the U.S. Amateur qualifier (2000), and numerous Long Island PGA championships.
