Tucked into the rolling old-farm landscape just north of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Hidden Glen at Bentdale Farms is one of the Midwest's most distinctive private golf experiences - a quirky, demanding, links-style design by PB Dye that opened in 2001 on a vast tract of former dairy land in Ozaukee County. The 7,017-yard par-72 layout is wide-open with virtually no tree protection from the gusty Wisconsin wind, and it is defended by classic Dye-family hallmarks: cleverly concealed target lines, dramatic grass mounds, massive multi-tiered greens that run lightning-fast on Providence Bent surfaces, and a series of blind shots beginning at the eighth hole that reward local knowledge and creative shot-making. Standouts include the par-4 third - a Dye-family risk/reward gem that bites off as much pond as you dare - and the diabolical short par-3 sixth, where missing the wrong side of a long, narrow green sends balls collecting in a punishing fall-off zone. Local knowledge is king here; first-time visitors come away humbled and immediately itching to return.

Honored as "Course of the Year" by the Wisconsin Golf Course Owners Association (2009).
