Mediterranean Wine & Bites

Join David and Lorna Isenberg for a Sunday afternoon feast featuring wines of Spain, Portugal and the South of France. The afternoon will include a dozen different wines from David's private collection for you to compare and enjoy at their Mercer Island home on April 23, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
You'll learn about the history of grape growing and winemaking in Jewish antiquity along with its centrality to Jewish communal life over the last 3000 years all while enjoying a leisurely spread of Spanish and Southern French dishes. The wines are non-kosher and the meal with be dairy and fish. It will be a celebration of good wine, food and community.

Phone Photography Class

Join professional photographers John and Lisa Merrill to jumpstart your phone photography and create high-impact photos of your family and friends, pets, everyday moments, and travels. The Merrills will help you harness the transformative power of light, compose for impact, and intentionally make, versus take, photos. You'll learn to take advantage of the often-overlooked features found in most phones to create images you love. John and Lisa will also share tips to help organize your photos, optimize your favorites, and combine them into compelling digital stories and photo products to treasure and share. This event event will occur at Hillel UW on Sunday, May 7, 2023. It will start with a bagel brunch at 9:30am and class will be from 10:00am to noon.

The cake will serve ~20 people. You choose the flavors, fillings, and decorations!
