"What fitting tribute that the first-ever Clara Barton Award for Humanitarian Service was presented to Dr. O'dell Owens this past April. It was my honor to bestow Dr. Owens with this inaugural award for humanitarian service in recognition of his outstanding commitment to our community. With his passing words cannot express the deep loss felt by myself, the Greater Cincinnati Tri-State Chapter of the American Red Cross and our entire community. He was an influential leader who used his multifaceted experience and his voice to advocate for vulnerable and underserved people. Dr. Owens cared deeply about making us and the community better.
