How does the silent auction work?
For each in-person tailgate party in Monterey and Burbank, we will have a small, traditional silent auction with bid sheets. The in-person silent auctions will close at the conclusion of the reception, just before guests move into the dining room. Winners to the in-person silent auctions will be announced during the dinner program and items can be picked up and taken home that evening.
Additionally, we are hosting an online auction using GiveSmart, allowing anyone to participate in the online auction. Our online auction will remain open until 8:30 p.m. PST, on Friday, March 24, 2023. You will be able to use your smartphone, tablet or a computer to keep up with the status of your bids and continue bidding until the auction closes. You can be the winning bidder wherever you are in the world!
How do I participate in the online bidding?
Get started online through this auction page. Just hit the "Register Now" button towards the top of this page and enter your name, cell phone number, and email address. Credit card information is required to bid.
How do I start and continue my bidding?
Browse the silent auction and start bidding on your favorite items! Place your bid on your selected items, set a maximum bid if desired, and GiveSmart will continue to keep you in the running until you reach your maximum.
How can I keep active and know if I am outbid or have won an item?
You will be notified via text if you have been outbid. Keep an eye on your favorite items! If you are NOT receiving the text messages make sure you have the correct mobile number under your profile. The texts will continue to notify you when you have been outbid or reached your maximum bid. When the silent auction closes, you will also receive a text message if you won any items.
How do I pay for my item once I win?
We require that you put a credit card on file when bidding on items for an easy, quick checkout. Any credit or debit card will work. At the close of the auction, you'll be able to go to your activity and check out with just a few clicks! How do I retrieve or arrange my auction item/experience?
You may pick up your auction item at the Kiwanis Professional Center at a mutually agreeable date and time.
Winning bidders of experience/travel packages will be contacted with details about how to claim experiences/travel packages.
Alternatively, we can ship items for you, but you will need to pay the associated shipping and handling fees. Packages will be shipped USPS and you can find a calculator to estimate the shipping fees here: https://postcalc.usps.com/. Items will be shipped after the shipping costs have been received.
