Cheers to 70 Years

We are so excited to gather on October 14th at 6:30 at Great Wolf Lodge to celebrate the 70th anniversary of The Arc of Opportunity! It is difficult to describe how far individuals with disabilities have come in the last 70 years.

We can say with confidence today how something as seemingly simple as a trip to a museum, preparing for a job interview, or feeling comfortable and supported at home can change the life of an individual with a disability. The concept of these types of supports in 1952, when The Arc was founded, would have felt like an impossibility. The advancements of the last 70 years are made possible by the advocacy and support of you so thank you for pushing us forward. But the work is not done yet! We have a long way to go over the next 70 years but it starts now!

This year, we are excited to offer many different opportunities to contribute to The Arc no matter where you are! There are exclusively online options, some that are available only in-person, and some have a combination of ways to get involved. Hopefully this makes all of the auction opportunities transparent and easy to follow!

Exclusively Online

From September 30-October 14, we will be running an online, silent auction. All bids will be captured and managed on this site and on October 14, we will close the bidding and winners will be notified. The silent auction items will be displayed on October 14 at Great Wolf Lodge, but bids will only be captured electronically on this website.

Winners of silent auction items can pick up their items if they attend the live auction on October 14, or if you win the bid remotely, we will work with you to arrange pickup from The Arc's Main Street building in the coming weeks.

Exclusively In-Person

October 14 will be a great event and we are hoping everyone can join us at Great Wolf Lodge! Some of the festivities are only available this night so make sure you are ready for the fun!

The live auction is back and something you must be with us on October 14 the participate in. We will have about 15-20 live auction items including trips and other exciting experiences! The competitive juices will be flowing so make sure you get your ticket early!

We have a beautiful Seiko Mahogany Wall Clock with pendulum and chime that will go to the winner of "The Clock Game." The clock will be displayed but the face of the clock will be covered. There will be 50 envelopes sold, each with a unique corresponding time. One of the envelopes contains the time that matches the face of the clock. You must be present to participate and win the clock.

Combination In-Person and Virtual

Both the Lottery Tree and the 50/50 Raffles have online and in-person components. You are welcome to buy tickets to these raffles both in person and online, before October 14. However, you must be present to win so everyone can see your excitement! If you purchase tickets online, we will have them ready for you when you arrive on October 14 and you will be entered then.

The African Safari Raffle tickets can be purchased before October 14 and on the day of, as long as there are tickets remaining. We will only sell 20 tickets so don't delay if you want to be entered for this once-in-a-lifetime trip.

One last critical way you can support The Arc is by Funding-A-Need. This is a donation to Family Supports that allows individuals with disabilities and their families to continue receiving these services at no cost. You can Fund-A-Need on this website or donate on October 14th as we will have a Fund-A-Need section of the live auction.
