Since 2003, Marine Applied Research and Exploration (MARE) has documented and monitored important deepwater sites off the west coast of the US, Hawai'i, Caribbean, and beyond to provide actionable information to decision-makers and highlight critical information about the deep sea. This work is more critical than ever as the ocean faces increasing threats. A loss of our critical deep-sea habitats will have a cascading effect on many marine organisms that depend on them. MARE's blue technology is paving the way for a healthier, more resilient ocean.
