Welcome to Seattle's 2022 benefit concert and fundraiser for Oligo Nation! Join beloved local band Quicknine for an eclectic grungy post-punk performance in an evening of positive energy, food, and fun! All proceeds from ticket, food, and raffle sales will be donated to Oligo Nation to fund medical research for new and emerging treatments for oligodendroglioma, a rare type of brain tumor. Fish Fry available from 6:00 - 7:30pm. Music begins at 7:30pm.
In April 2021, Rebecca had a surprise left-side seizure, drawing attention to an Oligodendroglioma tumor that had been hiding out in her brain, just above the right ear. Once discovered, haste was made to safely remove as much of the tumor as possible, followed by proton radiation and chemotherapy to prevent the remaining cells from spreading.
Rebecca has just now started her year-long chemotherapy regimen. This type of tumor is nearly always fatal, but thankfully oligodendrogliomas are a relatively slow-growing tumor - patients may survive up to 10 or 20 years. Medical advances will extend the life expectancy and quality of life, and breakthrough innovations may even provide a cure.
That's why we have teamed up with Oligo Nation. Oligo Nation is a community-driven non-profit focused on advancing translational medical research that can lead to effective treatments within 5 years. Their work has the potential to literally extend the life of your friends with oligo tumors. We are super honored to work with this amazing foundation - please consider a generous donation!
