About the Gala

The Mad Hot Ball 30th Anniversary Gala returns at a new time of the year. Enjoy an open bar, hearty hors d'oeuvres and sweet bites. To commemorate our 30th anniversary, a company of student dancers from across the city will perform. There will be table seating and plenty of delicious offerings when you are not dancing the night away or taking a spin around the floor with a ballroom pro. It's a night not to be missed!

Through the joyful art and practice of social dances, Dancing Classrooms (DC) cultivates engaged learners, collaborative leaders, and inclusive spaces. DC envisions a world that values social dance as foundational to every child's well-being and joy, celebrates the beauty of diversity, and amplifies our shared humanity. We are proud to be the first organization to offer the powerful benefits of partner dance to public school students and the largest provider of dance education to the NYC Department of Education.

The core values of Connection, Inclusion, and Joy are the throughline in all aspects of our work. By partnering with schools and community organizations across New York City, we reach over 13,000 K-12 students in NYC and thousands more through our national network annually to inspire the next generation of compassionate, global citizens. Since the program's founding in 1994, DC has reached over 700,000 young people globally.
