Ski Tahoe with Cody Townsend

Tahoe is home to some of the best skiing in the world, so it's no wonder pro skier Cody Townsend calls it home. The winner of this package and a friend will head to Tahoe to ski with Cody.

One of the most awarded skiers in free skiing history, Cody Townsend has evolved from a California beach kid obsessed with the mountains to standing atop the pinnacle of the sport. From a successful alpine ski racing career to stunt skiing for Hollywood blockbuster films, or skiing the "Most Insane Line Ever" to ski mountaineering North America's "Fifty Most Classic Ski Descents", Townsend has proven to be able to ski the most challenging and dangerous lines with ease. Jimmy Chin Autographed Photo

Jimmy Chin wears many hats-climber, skier, Oscar winning filmmaker-but he is perhaps best known for his stunning photography.

His achievements include climbing and skiing Mount Everest from the summit, making first ascents of big walls and alpine towers in the Karakoram and Himalayas, and crossing the Chang Tang Plateau in north-western Tibet on foot.

Both in front of and behind the camera, he has been featured in numerous publications, including National Geographic, Outside, and Men's Journals. He directed, along with his wife Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, the award winning documentary Free Solo.

This striking black and white photo captures Charakusa Valley, located deep in the Karakoram of Pakistan. It was taken in 2001, and is autographed by Jimmy Chin.

Brad Washburn Original, Autographed Photo "After the Storm"

You can take home this very rare, original silver gelatin photo, which is signed by Bradford Washburn himself!

Mountaineer, explorer, mapmaker, author. Brad Washburn is all of these things, but he is best known for his striking photography.
"After the Storm" is one of Washburn's most iconic photos. The day he captured this incredible image he was flying to photograph the Matterhorn on a bright sunny morning after a fresh snowfall. A perfect day! While en route they flew over this group of climbers, he instructed his pilot to turn around so he could take this marvelous series of a group climbing the Doldenhorn.

Hang this gorgeous, autographed Washburn over your mantle, in your office, or in the living room. Where ever you hang it, it will command the awe of guests as they take in this striking black and white photo. It is an original 16" by 20" silver gelatin print, and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

About Washburn: Washburn visited many wild regions of the globe - including the Alps, remote Alaska, the Grand Canyon, even Mount Everest. A typical method for Brad's photo trips was to remove an airplane door and to secure his camera and himself to the plane; exceptionally warm clothing was critical, especially in wintry conditions. He's also a storied mountaineer having put up many first ascents of major Alaskan peaks, often with his wife Barbara. His legacy lives on in the AAC's Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum and in his photos.

Living Climbing History: Climb with Latok I Team

In 1978, four of America's finest alpinists (Jim Donini, Michael Kennedy, George Lowe and Jeff Lowe) approached the untouched North Ridge of Latok 1. Their 26 day epic through storm and sickness ended tantalizingly close to the summit. Over the next four decades more than thirty teams of world class climbers failed to get closer than 2,000 vertical feet below their high point. The climb has become the holy Holy Grail of alpinism, and the North Ridge, in its entirety, remains unclimbed.

The winner of this package will get to experience living climbing history! Head out for a day of adventure with legends Jim Donini, Michael Kennedy, and George Lowe. You'll climb in the iconic Colorado Front Range, choosing from its plethora of world class crags. As an added bonus, AAC publications manager, Dougald MacDonald, will join to share fun climbing history tidbits and regal with you with tales from the AAJ.
