Parents' Association Tuition Raffle

HIES Parents' Association Tuition Raffle Guidelines 2022 (updated December 15, 2021)

1.     Tickets will be available for purchase online beginning January 3, 2022, through GiveSmart. They may also be sold at some school events. A push page, PA newsletter post, and postings to the individual "Class of XXXX" Facebook pages will serve as the announcements that ticket sales have opened.    Online ticket sales will end Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 12noon.

2.     Ticket pricing is: 1-$75; 3-$200; 5-$300; 10-$500

3.     The tuition raffle winner will be drawn and announced on Friday, April 29, 2022, during the 2022 Lower School Field Day. The winner does not need to be present to win.

4.     The tuition raffle winner will receive tuition credit for one student enrolled at HIES for the 2022-2023 school year. The student must be identified at time of ticket purchase. The tuition credit amount will be based on the scheduled tuition for that school year. Tuition credit is not redeemable for cash. This prize will pay for tuition only: additional fees, books, or other miscellaneous charges are excluded.

5.     The HIES Parents' Association must raise funds from ticket sales equal to the 2022-2023 academic year's Upper School tuition as published by the school. If less than that amount in funds is raised by the stated ticket sales deadline, the drawing date may be extended to increase ticket sales. If not, the tuition credit will be 50% of the funds received from the ticket sales, net of Tuition Raffle Expenses.

6.     Should the tuition winner select a student on financial aid, the tuition credit will be awarded on the remaining balance. No additional cash or credit will be given.

7.     Should the winner select a student not returning to HIES for the 2022-2023 school year, the tuition raffle proceeds will go back to the HIES Parents' Association to be used at the discretion of the Executive Board of HIES Parents' Association.

8.     The winner need not be present to win. The winner will be notified in person, by telephone, or by email.

9.     The winner is responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes. The winner must provide the HIES Parents' Association with appropriate tax information. All prizes are subject to applicable taxes. Raffle tickets purchased are not tax deductible. This information must be received within one week of being notified as a winner of the raffle. Please consult your tax advisor for any questions.

10.  All net proceeds benefit the HIES Parents' Association.

11.  Without further notice to comply with applicable laws or regulations, the HIES Parents' Association and/or Tuition Raffle Committee reserve the right to make changes to the structure of this event.

12.  Raffle participants acknowledge receipt of the HIES Parents' Association Tuition Raffle Guidelines and agree to be bound thereby. In receiving raffle proceeds, winner confirms this agreement.

13.  All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. The raffle is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Purchasers of raffle tickets must be at least 18 years of age.

14.  Raffle winner and the selected student agree to participate in publicity photographs and articles identifying the winner of the 2022 Tuition Raffle to benefit the HIES Parents' Association.

15.  Any consideration to Tuition Raffle winners donating the Tuition Raffle proceeds back to the HIES Parents' Association is highly discouraged.
