Veterans Drive located in downtown Rice Lake is the most patriotic road in Rice Lake adorned with memorials, monuments, statues, and our country's flags. However, to complete the story, Rice Lake Main Street Association would like to tell the story through the faces of our community members who pledged to protect our country with the Veterans Drive Banner Project. We are fundraising for service members to be honored on 22 banners along Veterans Drive to be attached to the 11 utility poles along the greenspace. These banners will have service members past and present with their photograph, name and branch, years of service and/or wars. It'll further tell the story of our community's part in history. We will display the banners Memorial Day through Patriots Day in September. Then, on Veterans Day each year will dedicate the banners back to the families during the annual Veterans Day programming within the community. We hope you will join us in honoring these members. Furthermore, we would like to purchase lighting and electrical infrastructure along the road in Red White and Blue during the holidays previously mentioned. Through your financial support and volunteering, we can show our appreciation to those who have served, sacrificed, and gave their all for the safety of our community and country.
