BBQ COMES TO BEARD HOUSE

THREE MASTERS OF THE PIT

We know many a fine dining meal has been served at the James Beard House in the three plus decades since we opened our doors, but what makes the Beard House so special is how easily a rustic feast feels right at home. And that's just what we have in mind with this extraordinary party with the Pitmasters. Prepare to roll up your sleeves, overeat with abandon as you savor brisket, ribs, pulled pork and more. We can't think of anything better to wash down all the delicious 'cue than with Woodford Reserve bourbon whiskey, whom we've enlisted to create specialty cocktails.

Dinner will be a collaboration between three nationally celebrated barbecue masters:

  • James Beard Award Winner Aaron Franklin, Franklin Barbecue, Austin TX

This national icon is finally reopening its dining room since Covid began later this month. The demand will be out of this world.

  • Evan LeRoy, LeRoy & Lewis Barbecue, Austin TX

New school barbecue meets old school service. Texas Monthly just published its annual 50 best barbecue joints in Texas and declared LeRoy & Lewis # 5, beating out Franklin Barbecue, we might add!

  • Matt Horn, Horn Barbecue, Oakland CA

2021 Food & Wine magazine Best New Chef and rising star on the national stage. He's from Northern California but his style honors Texas traditions with a focus on Black barbecue history and Southern cooking.

James Beard House remains closed to the public and will be opened just for you and your guests on this occasion.

This private event for up to 24 Guests at the James Beard House includes:

  • Private reception and barbecue feast, presented by three nationally celebrated barbecue masters: James Beard Award Winner Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue, Austin TX; Evan LeRoy of LeRoy & Lewis Barbecue, Austin TX; and Matt Horn of Horn Barbecue, Oakland CA
  • Specialty cocktails created by Woodford Reserve
  • A selection of barbecue friendly wine, unique beer, and nonalcoholic beverages
