Anderson Wrangle is from Houston, Texas. He received his B.A. in English, and Studio Art from the University of the South. He has lived in Prague, Portland, and New York, and worked for the Portland Art Museum and FotoFest. He received his M.F.A from the University of Houston in 2001, and he was a Visiting Assistant Professor there from 2003 to 2007. He is an Associate Professor at Clemson, where he has taught since 2007. Anderson Wrangle was recently named a 2021-2023 Creativity Professor in the College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities. He has multiple research grants, including a 2021 CAAH Materials Grant, a 2018 FRDP Grant, a 2014 CAAH Faculty Research Grant, a 2012 Clemson CAAH Seed Grant to pursue a collaborative photographic survey of the Savannah River, 2015, 2013 and 2012 Clemson Center of Visual Arts Faculty Research Grants, and a 2010 Clemson University Research Grant for his photographic survey of the Upper Savannah River Watershed. Anderson Wrangle was a 2019 Hambidge Center Resident. His work is in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, the Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro/Cole?'o Joaquim Paiva, the Galerie hlavn'ho m_sta Prahy (GHMP), Prague, Czech Republic, and many private collections.
