Charlie Watts is an installation artist and photographer based in Atlanta. Her many series explore the construction of female identity and women's connection to nature. In a world changed, her current work celebrates the rejuvenation of Atlanta communities as they emerge from isolation. Whether uplifting the voices of Atlanta's women, encouraging immersion in nature, or exploring rest as a social justice issue, her photographic installations raise up the hope and light emerging on the horizon. For Weather and Friends, a current exhibition at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, she collaborated with The Nap Ministry, a nonprofit that examines the liberating power of naps. This work defines how rest can be a form of resistance and rightly names sleep deprivation as a racial and social justice issue.
