Thanks to everyone who joined and supported for us to have a a powerful evening on November 6th!

What a joy it was to gather together to celebrate Hope. Resilience. Solidarity.   We honor the resilience of our members and are audaciously advocating for the removal of barriers and systemic injustices that prevent community well-being. And, we are amazed by the solidarity that continues to strengthened in our communal work towards economic vitality!

We enjoyed a cooking demonstration with Roberto Pérez from Urban Pilón and learned to make sofrito and pastelón de yuca together! We celebrated with the young danzantes (dancers) from Ballet Folklórico de Chicago who shared with us danzas (dances) related to the traditions of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).  And, we were honored to receive saludos (greetings) from the Aztec Dance Chicago group, as we strive for hope together.

Three of our powerful members, Quinntessa, Ivon & Stephanie shared their stories of how CCL's work has brought hope and solidarity to their lives and we were able to recommit ourselves to work together for economic vitality, community well-being and Black & Brown solidarity.

We had a blast celebrating in community for our 2021 Virtual Gala! ?Thank you for your support of CCL and it's not too late to make a donation to support our work!
