ELMWOOD IS IN ITS ELEMENT
Elmwood students excel in science with a fair number of girls pursuing studies in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Last year, just over 45% of graduates pursued STEM programs at universities and colleges around the world.
What better way to inspire even more girls to pursue the sciences than to introduce them to STEM at an early age and provide them with best-in-class facilities that will help them reach their full potential. More Elmwood students will continue studies in STEM at university and pursue related careers. They will close the gender gap in STEM, become the future leaders, and be the change makers our society needs.
That is why we're creating a STEAM (STEM + Art) Centre in the Junior School and renovating the Chemistry Lab thereby completing the Science & Innovation Wing in the Middle/Senior School. These new and innovative spaces will be game changers in how science is taught at Elmwood.

The Periodic Table Art Installation will stand as a lasting tribute to the generosity of our community and our collective commitment to the best STEM and STEAM education for students at Elmwood, from pre-K through grade 12. The installation will feature 118 elements of the periodic table recreated in clear acrylic tiles. Each element will feature the scientific details of the element plus a name or dedication. Tiles are valued at $1,000 or $500 depending on their location on the periodic table. Donors will receive a tax receipt for the amount of their tile purchase.

*The periodic table above shows where the elements will appear on the Periodic Table Art Installation (colours correspond to the categorization of the elements, not prices). Purchased tiles will be clear acrylic. A version of the Periodic Table Art Installation will appear in the Junior School STEAM Centre.
