Maisy is a unique chair that is influenced by many historic eras. She has baluster legs and is in the shape of a Victorian Parlor chair and has a design like a lyre back. It has many influences of an Eastlake Victorian Parlor Chair of the 1870-90's. When refurbishing the chair, it was discovered the name "Kimball" was written on the underside of the chair. It is unknown if this was a furniture company name or a family that owned the piece. Horsehair, burlap, straw, and wool was found under the original upholstery. This was common up until the 19th century and was often a mark of quality because of it's strength and was more costly than other alternatives that could used for cushioning. This indicates the chair is most likely an antique in addition to the styling of the piece. The chair has been restasined with a dark water-based stain that shows the gain of the wood and gold and cream stylized pattern was chosen for the upholstery.
