BELIEVING IN GIRLS - EMPOWERMENT PROJECT
Pace Center for Girls' mission to provide a brighter future for our girls continues into 2021 as we continue to adjust to the "new norm" with an updated version of our annual Believing in Girls Empowerment Luncheon. The 2021 Believing in Girls Empowerment Project & Event features the opportunity for community partners to leave a lasting legacy of love and inspiration for our girls.
At our Center in Wilton Manors, girls can attend classes, visit with counselors, and work with therapists to heal their pasts and look forward to their futures. The counseling, academic support, therapy, and overall holistic services we provide at Pace give our girls a safe space - both emotion-al and physical - where they are supported, cared for, and inspired on a daily basis.
Due to the pandemic, our girls could not rely on that physical safe space for over six months, only accessing our services remotely. Recently, our new hybrid model of services has allowed for both in-person and remote learning, but many students have opted to stay home. As we look forward to the day when we will have all of our girls back at the Center, we are planning a new project in 2021 to welcome our girls as they return to the supportive, loving safe space at Pace that they so often call their second home.
We are asking community partners and supporters to join us as we recreate and reimagine our space through a series of empowering and inspiring art projects that will be designed by local artists to transform our outdoor garden area. With this project, each organization can be a part of the creative process in more ways than one - whether painting a mural alongside an artist, adding their name to our mosaic installation or a brick in our wellness area, or simply sponsoring a plant for our Gratitude Garden. All of our efforts will culminate in a beautiful evening to unveil the work of our community's artists and to celebrate our girls on Thursday, April 8, 2021.
