Dine In or Dine Out to Fight Hunger

Due to the ban on large social gatherings, it is with deep disappointment we must cancel the 29th Annual Celebrity Cuisine scheduled for April 20, 2021. Because this fundraiser is vital to our prepared and perishable food rescue efforts of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, we encourage you to participate in our Dine In or Dine Out to Fight Hunger online fundraiser.

All participants who contribute to the online fundraiser by midnight on Saturday, May 1, 2021 will receive Tri-County Restaurant Association (TCRA) gift certificates in the amount associated with your giving level. Certificates can be used at 144 restaurants at more than 160 locations throughout Stark, Carroll and Tuscarawas counties.

Your Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank remains steadfast in our commitment to support families facing hunger. Our region has experienced a 31 percent increase in food insecurity because of COVID-19, and we expect it will take families months, if not years, to rebound. Your support means more meals for the individuals, children and seniors facing food insecurity.

We're also committed to the success of our restaurant partners who help provide meals to our struggling neighbors through our prepared and perishable food rescue program, Community Harvest. Seventy-seven percent of restaurant operators have laid off or furloughed employees because of the pandemic, while 61 percent of restaurant operators say their restaurant will not be profitable within the next 6 months.
