WHEELSUP 2021

Friends of WHEELS is excited to host the 9th Annual WHEELSUP, a celebration of our student's positivity and power in this challenging year. We are especially lifting up the class of 2021, who have accomplished so much despite many obstacles, and who's futures shine bright! 

Join us virtually to dance, hear original music and partake in conversation with our students and honorees. While we can't wait to be together in person, we are excited to join with you, be inspired and hopeful together to toast our students' futures!

We are thrilled to celebrate our two honorees. Cindy Chen Delano, a first generation college student/law school graduate who grew up in Chinatown, and, like many of our students, is a child of immigrants. Her recent achievement in co-founding Invictus Global Management, a people of color owned investment management firm based in Austin, Texas and being one of the few female investors/owners in private equity, is deeply inspirational to our community, as is her commitment to giving back to help close the opportunity gap.

We also honor our own Alex Roberto, whose leadership as Board Chair for Friends of WHEELS for the past two years and on our Board of Directors over the past 8+ years has been critical. Alex has gone above and beyond, running three NYC Marathons for FOW,  facilitating stability to sustain our work through COVID and always championing the  needs of our students and alumni at his company, Capital One.
