Our Wish Children need us now more than ever, and we need your support
Help us continue the important work of granting wishes to Michigan children battling life-threatening illnesses. Your help will allow us to keep our promise that, "no child in need of a wish will be turned away or made to wait."
Any amount will help make a direct impact on the life of a child.
"When I was a little kid I thought that my life was going to be perfect and that I was going to visit a castle every single day of my life. It actually turned out though that I would be spending a lot of my time in the hospital." This is how Addison begins telling the story of her journey with cancer.
At just 12 years old, Addison was diagnosed with an adult form of ovarian cancer. A very rare case, Addison and her family sought treatment at the University of Michigan Hospital. Addison went through surgeries and a variety of chemo treatments while battling the cancer.
Instead of enjoying the traditions of 6th grade, she spent the year in and out of hospitals.
Addison's home town of Ubly, Michigan rallied around her and her family. In 2019, Team Sunrise Real Estate Services reached out to The Rainbow Connection and sponsored Addison's wish to go to Disney!
For one week Addison and her family were able to spend quality time with one another to create long lasting memories.
The Rainbow Connection has been granting wishes to children like Addison for 36 years. With help from individuals like you and supporters like Team Sunrise, we are committed to continue granting wishes for many more years to come!
Since 1985, The Rainbow Connection has granted wishes to more than 3,800 Michigan children, allowing them to, even for a moment, just BE KIDS! Wishes not only give children and their families courage to battle the challenges of their illness, but also provide hope for brighter days.
