This year has been incredibly difficult for people everywhere - especially since many of us have not been able to see and hug our loved ones as often as we would like. After all, having loved ones near can be one of the biggest sources of comfort during challenging times, particularly for a child.

This is just one of the reasons why the Ronald McDonald House of Danville works so hard to make sure families with ill and injured children can stay together during their treatment - even in the face of new challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and beyond.

We are there for families considering tough questions: What if the best treatment for my child is hundreds of miles away from home? What will our family do if the treatment is extensive and requires a long stay?

In order to ensure families can always count on our programs to answer their questions, we need your help.

"One day our lives changed forever. We were visiting family when twin A erupted his sac causing my water to break at just 24 weeks. We were admitted to the hospital for five weeks before giving birth to two premature boys. Both boys experienced lung issues, reflux and had to use a CPAP machine to breath. One of the boys developed a milk protein allergy a few weeks after birth that placed him in the ICU.

The Ronald McDonald House of Danville was a lifesaver during a time of crisis, not just an early delivery but with the COVID-19 pandemic. It was very scary in the beginning when restrictions were placed both at the Hospital and the House, but we were grateful for the restrictions. It gave us peace of mind knowing that the restrictions would help protect our twin boys.

The Ronald McDonald House of Danville was a lifesaver. We able to walk back and forth and not worry about how we were going to travel to the boys. The staff was amazing and the volunteers who provided the meals are lifesavers. We greatly appreciated the generosity of so many during a difficult time for our family and the world at large.

The Ronald McDonald House of Danville is a helping hand at any moment, but you don't think about it until you are in that moment." The Ottavini Family
