About Forward Food

Approximately 1.5 billion animals are used for the food service industry (colleges, K-12 schools, corporate dining halls, etc.) each year. Forward Food employs trained chefs, food service professionals and experts in the art of menu development. These team members are stationed nationwide, building relationships with K-12 school districts, universities, hospitals, and the food service companies' themselves with the goal of increasing the amount of plant-based meals served. They lead workshops and chef trainings centered on effective meat reduction strategies and work with corporate food service companies to create and roll out new plant-based menu items. No other animal welfare organization has ever worked so closely with the food service industry.

About Humane Generation

This cooking series is modeled after the HSUS Humane Generation initiative, BE: Plant-Based, bringing attention to the HSUS' efforts to improve the lives of farm animals and encouraging diet choices that favor the welfare of animals. Humane Generation cultivates mission-motivated, well-networked next generation leaders, forging a pathway to personal philanthropy and deeper engagement with the Humane Society of the United States. By placing value on community and high-touch interaction, these supporters agree to advocate for the organization and commit resources to advance the welfare of animals.
