How to GiveSmart
Registration:
To buy a raffle ticket, bid in the Auction, or make a donation to Nyumbani, you first need to be registered in GiveSmart. To register, please choose only 1 of the following steps:
1. click here: https://Nyumbani.givesmart.com and follow the prompts
or
2. text Nyumbani to 76278
How to Make a Donation during Fund-a-Dream:
Once you have completed your Registration (see above), choose the 'Click to Donate' button, which can be found on both the 'Items' and the 'Donate' pages from the GiveSmart Menu bar. You can select pre-set donation amounts or enter any amount using the 'Click to Donate' button.
How to Bid:
Watch this video or follow instructions below:
- Once you have completed your registration (see above), you will receive a welcome text message, linking you to the items to browse, bid or buy.
- Click on the Blue link in the Welcome text to be directed to the Items page.
- View Items by category or search by Item number or name.
- Click the item of interest to view the description as well as the current bid and or price.
- The system will auto-populate the bid amount based on the set increment for the item.
- Choose to bid at the set amount or higher.
- Click Bid.

Although the auction will officially close at 10:00pm EDT on Thursday, October 1st, donations will still be accepted after the gala is over.

RULES FOR BIDDING
Nyumbani USA Fall Fundraiser
All Silent Auction bidders must abide by the Silent Auction Terms and Conditions set out in the Givesmart Website.
The silent auction will open for bidding at 12:00 p.m. EDT, Saturday, September 19, 2020, and closes at 10:00 p.m. EDT, Thursday, October 1, 2020.
- Please note listed minimum bids and bid increments for each auction item.
- All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted. All items are "as is".
- We have attempted to describe and catalog items as correctly as possible, but discrepancies may occur.
- Auction item values listed are an estimate of fair market value (FMV). Items have not been formally appraised unless noted.
- We reserve the right to add or withdraw items without notice.
Pick up or delivery of auction items to be arranged in the local metropolitan Washington, DC area no later than October 15, 2020. For individuals outside the Washington, DC metropolitan area who are unable to pick up in person, a surcharge of 5-10% (depending on weight and size of item) will be added to the winning bid to cover shipping and handling.
