Step Up to the Plate is a collaboration between Broad Street Ministry, Project HOME, Prevention Point Philadelphia and SEAMAAC to ensure access to food and medical care for Philadelphians experiencing homelessness and food insecurity during COVID-19. Step Up to the Plate worked with the City of Philadelphia to secure outdoor sites in Kensington, Center City, and South Philadelphia, allowing meal services to continue while adhering to social distancing guidelines.
Additional partnerships between participating caterers and human services organizations across the city mean that Step Up to the Plate is distributing over 10,000 meals weekly for seven weeks.
