CHALK ART ENTRIESThis year's 68th Annual Stonington Village Fair will not gather on Wadawanuck Square on August 1st, but instead include some virtual experiences to capture the quintessential New England hometown fair spirit. In lieu of the traditional fair games on the green, we are introducing a Community Chalk Art Contest! Artists of all ages are invited to share their creative selves with some good old fashioned chalk art drawings!
Step One: There is no entry fee. Entrants are asked to draw a chalk art picture, include #BetterTogether in your drawing and submit a photo of your drawing by emailing it to the COMO at [email protected].
Step Two: Next, the community will vote. This is the fundraiser component of the contest. Votes cost $1 each and folks can cast as many votes as they would like to support the COMO with this fun competition. Be sure to ask your friends, family, local businesses, etc. to vote on your drawing! The most votes in each division wins*!
1. AGE DIVISIONS:
CHILD: Ages 3-12
TEEN: Ages 13-17
ADULT: Ages 18+
*There will also be a Judges' Pick for each division, which will be highlighted in future COMO promotions.
2. PRIZES:
CHILD: An abundant basket of art and craft supplies (most votes in each division will win this prize)
TEEN: An abundant basket of age appropriate art and craft supplies (most votes in each division will win this prize)
ADULT: $250 Gift Card or $350 in *COMO Cash
- Only 1 prize given per individual.
- If the prize winner is a minor, that prize will be awarded to their parent or legal guardian.
- If two entries tie for the top spot, then a Facebook Live coin flip would determine the winner. In the event of multiple ties for a prize spot, first place, those tied will face-off via a coin flip in alphabetical order based on the last name of the person submitting the entry. The loser of the coin flip is eliminated, and the remaining winners face off with each other. The coin flips continue until there is only one winner for each place.
*COMO Cash can be used for anything at the Stonington Community Center, from programs to the Thrift Shop.
