NATCA is raising Awareness and Education of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention with a 3-month campaign centered around September's National Suicide Awareness Month. We are raising money for NATCA Charitable Foundation (NCF) with proceeds benefiting NCF and the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
Beginning October 1st, participants will do 25 pushups a day for 25 straight days (even if you must use a wall or drop to your knees to get to 25). In the end, you will have completed 625 pushups. This is a team/family/industry effort. We are one Team, doing this together. No need to tag anyone else in your quest as this is a Team Effort. We would love to see you and your accomplishments. Take a video or picture and post it to your social media outlet of choice (not required) and tag us @NATCACharitable.
Please use the following hash tags for each post - #SuicidePrevention #MentalHealth #ImHereForYou #StopSuicide
From now through October 25th, we are asking you to fundraise and gather support for your 25 day challenge. This will be a competition between all those who register for some wonderful prizes. Of course, the top fundraiser will win something amazing, but there will be a variety of other items given away or auctioned off during this event. You must be registered to participate and win.
To All NATCA Sisters and Brothers, these are trying times. If you need immediate help, please reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255. The NATCA CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) team is also a valuable resource and can be reached at 202-505-2476, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Another valuable resource is the FAA EAP program that provides up to eight free confidential counseling sessions and can be reached at 1-800-234-1327. We need to look out for one another!
