Wayne Lawrence
A Most Unusual Place (Vermont, 2017)
In a rundown barn in rural Vermont stands the Museum of Everyday Life. French photographer Stéphane Lavoué captures this curious building that shuns fine art and instead celebrates "beloved objects we use every day." The items were found in farm sheds or fields. Past exhibits have featured toothbrushes, safety pins and locks and keys. The idea is to find the extraordinary in the ordinary. Lavoué peaks our interest in his portrayal of this weather-worn museum amid snow banks in the middle of nowhere. To see more of Stephane Lavoué's work, visit http://www.stephanelavoue.fr.
