Since first opening its doors in 2014, Ignition Community Glass (ICG) has grown its vision of leveraging glass art to foster youth development and has become a leading Chicago educational and therapeutic arts-based nonprofit. Today, ICG serves over 800 youth annually, partnering with more than 15 youth-serving organizations throughout greater Chicago.
The Ignite the Potential Gala on Thursday, June 11th will bring together over 200 leaders in education, social justice, and the arts to support our youth. This year, we are proud to honor Glass Art Champion, Anne Oppenheimer, for her longtime commitment and support of the glass art community and youth development.
ICG's annual Galas provide a platform to showcase our work advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts with a specific focus on expanding access to the power of hands-on glass art. The evening will feature Acclaimed Glass Artist, Therman Statom, an inspirational community advocate who champions art as a tool for community engagement and empowerment and as a catalyst for change.
