West African drum known as a djembe used in traditional ceremonies. This is an authentic, vintage item, not a souvenir made for tourists.

A djembe is a rope-tuned skin-covered goblet drum played with bare hands originally from West Africa. According to the Bambara people in Mali, the name djembe comes from the saying "Anke djé, anke bé" which translates to "everyone gather together in peace" and defines the drum's purpose.

Valued at $250. Winning bidder, please remember to take the drum home with you at the end of the gala.
