Philly knows food. So many years ago, when Philly diners on 4th Street wanted a really good cookie to complete their meal at their favorite deli, the Famous 4th Street Cookie was born.

It started with Chocolate Chip, and this was no ordinary cookie. It was big, fresh, chewy, and bursting with genuine genuine chocolate chips. People said it was the best cookie they ever had (with apologies to grandma).

Soon people wanted to get boxes of cookies to take home and share with friends. So the Famous 4th Street Cookie Company was created, and in 1982 the popular Reading Terminal Market location was opened. When our cookies were baked, people lined up and couldn't get enough - and it's still the same today.

In 2016 we opened our brand-new, state-of-the-art bakery at 4177 Ridge Avenue. Over the years we've added lots of delicious, decadent cookies like Chocolate Macadamia Nut, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, and the amazing Snickerdoodle.
