As members of Johns Hopkins Medicine, Sibley Memorial Hospital is a leading healthcare provider in the Washington, D.C. region, offering world-class care. As a nonprofit. community hospital, Sibley depends on philanthropy to help fund new initiative, provide supportive services to patients in need, maintain clinical excellence through continuing education for clinical staff, provide funding for research, and more.

Donor support is critical to helping us add new service lines, provide more complex care, and reach a broader network within Washington and beyond.

Your support is an investment in the education and professional development of the nurses, doctors, and other staff who care for patients allowing us to maintain a robust training and professional development program to support the growing needs of the hospital and improve patients' safety, well-being, and outcomes.

After careful consideration, we have decided to cancel the 2020 Celebration of Hope & Progress on March 28, 2020 at the Mellon Auditorium.

The health of our patients, staff members and Washington, D.C. community is of primary importance to us. As Johns Hopkins Medicine, CDC and local health officials continue to monitor COVID-19, our hospital leadership has decided that cancelling the gala is the most prudent option at this time.

We regret having to cancel this celebration in honor of nursing care and look forward to sharing more information about nursing education programs at Sibley with you in the near future.

Please know that your support of nursing education is making a real difference - because of you, we are able to support nurses who pursue their specialty certifications at no cost to them. You have helped nurses get their bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees in nursing.  You allow us to provide simulation training programs that challenge nurses and other clinicians to think critically, work quickly and collaborate as a team. The programs you make possible help us ensure that patients receive expert, specialized nursing care.

Thank you for your understanding and support. If you would like more information about
COVID-19, please go to CDC's website or visit coronavirus.

For more than 125 years Sibley Memorial Hospital has provided outstanding care for our community. We have led the way with new procedures, invested in leading-edge technologies, and built exceptional facilities.

To meet the needs of the community and provide the best care possible, we are continually growing and evolving. Donor support is critical to helping us add new service lines, provide more complex care, and reach a broader network within Washington and beyond.

Sibley's Celebration of Hope & Progress is an annual signature fundraising event. Over the past eighteen years the event has raised nearly $14 million. These funds provide vital support to help us deliver the best care possible to every person who comes through our doors.

We hope you will join us for Sibley Memorial Hospital's 19th Celebration of Hope & Progress.
