Guest Speaker - David Grant

David Grant transformed California's Orange Coast Community College into an unexpected rowing powerhouse, battling head-to-head with the likes of Notre Dame and Michigan and eventually receiving the sport's highest American award, USRowing's 2018 Medal of Honor for "Extraordinary Feats". While simultaneously guiding his teams to victories in 80% of their races, David served as a professor and later President of Orange Coast College.

"I try to teach these kids that you can be powerful physically and still not be a good rower. Mental power and discipline are the keys not only to being a good oarsman, but to being a success in whatever is undertaken.
