2019 Gala: An evening of food, drink, and fun
to benefit the Museum's Education Initiatives

Education and cultural literacy have been at the heart of the Museum's mission since its inception over three decades ago. Each year, we impact hundreds of children through interactive education programs, encouraging students to explore local history and learn the skills of critical inquiry and interpretation as they decode artifacts, maps and other primary source materials. Cultivating interest in our city's unique history, architecture and industrial past invites thoughtful connections between in-school lessons and the outside world - laying the groundwork for lifelong curiosity. And since learning doesn't stop after high school, our ongoing adult education programs support civic engagement by creating a forum for discussion with varied authors, historians, filmmakers and local experts. Reaching well beyond its core exhibits, the Museum strives to serve as a respected teaching institution for all ages and an invaluable community resource.

With volunteer consultation from the award-winning educators at Sesame Workshop -- including Rosemarie Truglio, Ph.D., Senior Vice President, Curriculum & Content, a Hoboken native -- the Museum's multi-platform Education Initiatives helps continue its efforts to teach generations of all ages about the rich history of the town we all call home.
